Telford Film Festival will be bring ‘Dumbo’ and ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ to the Cinema in the Yurt at The Festival Hub in Dale End Park as well as sing along Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here we go again. Artisans at Maws will be hosting a special Film & Food Night showing Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Coalbrookdale Community Centre hosts a romantic classic ‘Casablanca’.  
 
Heritage and Special interest films are also part of the programme. Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron is hosting a screening of The Miners Hymn accompanied by the Wellington Brass Band. As part of the Secret Severn Arts trail, Coalbrookdale Community cinema will be showing artist inspired films ‘Loving Vincent’ and Freda the story of Freda Kalo as well as Symphony of the Soil.

As part of the festival enquiry as to whether the gorge can be the home of a ‘Green Industrial Revolution’ we will be hosting a climate change panel discussion and showing the 1982 film ‘Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance’; an experimental film directed by Godfrey Reggio with music composed by Philip Glass and cinematography by Ron Fricke exploring the effect man has had on the landscape and the environment.

This year’s festival will also host a immersive surround sound performance of sonic Artist Bobby Bird’s composition ‘Watt’s Orbit’, created from the sounds and rhythms of James Watt’s 250 year old steam driven beam engines’ and a performance of Nathan Tromans’ ‘The Trail of Thomas Love’ a musical & visual journey rooted in Ironbridge Gorge.
