Telford 50 – 50mile Trail

A new 50 mile walking route to celebrate Telford’s 50th anniversary. It joins all the open green spaces in Telford. It can be walked or run as a whole, if you are brave enough, or in smaller portions using public transport to create linear and circular routes. It showcases beautiful scenery, well known landmarks like The Wrekin and The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site and many lesser known hidden gems; features Telford’s history and rich industrial heritage and goes through 14 Local Nature Reserves and 4 SSSIs. It starts from the Trail Information Board near the Telford Town Park Visitor Centre.
The consortium are grateful to Telford and Wrekin Council and to Veolia Enviro Grant fund for funding to make this happen.
The consortium is drawn from members of Ironbridge Walking Festival, Marches LDWA, Telford and East Shropshire Ramblers, Telford Harriers, Walking for Health – Telford and Wrekin, Wellington Walkers are Welcome.
There is a dedicated website with full information about The Trail, route descriptions you can download and print, maps, gpx files and more.
